The NFL Free Agency this year has had a ton of trades that many did not see coming. This was one of them involving WR Robert Woods as the Los Angeles Rams have agreed on trading him to the Tennessee Titans. Down below are the details of the trade.

Los Angeles Rams Acquire: 2023 6th Round Pick
Tennessee Titans Acquire: WR Robert Woods

Los Angeles Rams Side

Not going long for the Rams as this was simple. The Rams needed salary relief and there is a big chance that Robert Woods will suffer a lot of decline due to him tearing his ACL last season. So why not ship him off for a late round pick so they can get the money to lock up Stafford long term and bring in Allen Robinson. They get out of a bad contract, salary relief, and get a late round pick as a result.

Tennessee Titans Side

The Julio Jones experiment was a complete flop as he suffered massive levels of regression last season. That resulted in the Titans releasing him, which exposed a need at wide receiver for the team. So why not acquire a receiver via trade. Roberts Woods was available on the trading block as the Rams wanted to cut salary. The Titans did not have to sacrifice a lot of draft capital to acquire him. But the issue here now is that the Titans are taking on a lot of money for a player that might not be the same since suffering a torn ACL. But, if he plays the same way he did before he got hurt, then this deal will be worth it.

Grades for Robert Woods Trade
Los Angeles Rams: B+
Tennessee Titans: B

This is another win-win transaction for both teams. I have to give the win to the Rams here, for now. Yes, Robert Woods is a talented player, but they needed the money to re-sign Matthew Stafford and bring in Allen Robinson via free agency. The risk here follows the Titans as Robert Woods may not be the same player he was after his injury. Overall great move by both Rams GM Les Snead and Titans GM Jon Robinson.
